Fighting Burrito has normally drawn a lot of its business from late-night sales. But, Goodman is hoping the new location will become increasingly popular for lunch and dinner as well. The restaurant is open on the following days and times:

• Tuesday – 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday – 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
• Friday and Saturday – 11 a.m. to 4 a.m.

Although McFarland has an existing building in the Somerset area, the new facility will have physical therapy services, rehabilitation services, and a family medicine practice. Initially, it will have three providers, but will eventually grow to include up to six. The older building, complete with a hydro-therapy pool and large sports medicine facility, will continue to serve the general public.

The North Ames clinic will be the first McFarland clinic that’s designed without a medical records room, as everything will be digital. All exam rooms were designed to accommodate patients while electronically recording the visit. Radiology images from this office will be completely digital as well. This is part of an ongoing transition to electronic records that is happening in all McFarland buildings – and should be completed within three years.

If you’re a runner, be sure to check out the Friendship Ark Homes annual holiday road race. The race begins at 8 a.m. at Ada Hayden Park and offers distances of 4k of 4-mile race around the lake. Proceeds will go to Friendship Ark Homes. You can get more details here.

The holiday festivities will kick off with a pancake breakfast at 10 a.m. that’s free to the public. It runs until 12 noon and takes place at the entrance of the City Hall at 515 Clark Avenue.

The annual 4^th of July parade begins at 1 p.m. and runs through the downtown area. There will also be inflatable rides, food, and games right after the parade, as well as several musical events at the Durham Bandshell. At dusk, the Ames Jaycees will put on a fireworks show.

Note: For those who make use of CyRide, they’ll run a normal schedule on Sunday, July 4^th and a Saturday schedule on the 5^th.

If you have a family, it’s also a great place to take your kids, as the Aquatic Center also has plenty of activities for children. It’s home to a 5,000 square foot recreational pool with a large play structure, family slide, spray features, and more. For all ages, there are four family changing areas, as well as restroom and locker room facilities and a concession stand.

The Furman Aquatic Center’s hours are as follows:

Open Swim: 1 – 8 p.m. daily

Adult Lap Swim: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. daily

Adult 50-meter Lap Swim: 7 – 10 a.m. (Saturdays only)

Water Walking: 12 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. (Tuesdays and Thursdays)

One of the most unique aspects is the coffee shop’s collection of more than 10,000 vinyl records, which were collected by the owner. It’s also home to 45s, 78s, 8-Tracks, Cassettes, and CDs. To house the records, he and his wife created shelves that resemble a giant chest of drawers and are lined against the coffee shop’s wall. There’s also a listening booth in a connecting room that customers can enjoy. If you wish to purchase any of the music, Vinyl Cafe sells 45 rpm records and 8-track tapes.

When to Get Keys/Move In:  August 1^st after 12 noon at the office at 4611 Mortensen, Suite 106*

1. *Unless you sign up for an early check in, then you can move in on July 31^st after 4PM. You must be willing to take the unit AS-IS.
2. Know your correct address when coming to pick up keys!
3. All apartment keys will be given to the first person that comes to the office

Office Hours During Turnover (July 31^st and August 1^st):    8am- 5pm (Saturday and Sunday)

Rent: August rent is due on August 1^st (please make 1 payment all at once for whole apartment)

Utilities: need to be put into your name and new address by July 15^th! Have them activated for July 30^th (since the 31^st and 1^st are on the weekend)

 ACH’s/Credit Card Withdrawals:  Will automatically be cancelled on July 31^st

1. If you wish to continue your automatic withdrawals for rent you will need to fill out another form by July 15^th in order for it to start August 1^st.
