Furman Aquatic Center now open!
After years of planning, the $10-million Furman Aquatic Center opened on May 29, 2010. The center features a 550-foot lazy river with a waterfall and two water slides, a 50-meter pool with basketball hoops, a 3-meter platform, and 1-meter spring board. The pool also features a 150-foot drop slide and multiple lanes that accommodate both recreational and competitive swimmers.
If you have a family, it’s also a great place to take your kids, as the Aquatic Center also has plenty of activities for children. It’s home to a 5,000 square foot recreational pool with a large play structure, family slide, spray features, and more. For all ages, there are four family changing areas, as well as restroom and locker room facilities and a concession stand.
The Furman Aquatic Center’s hours are as follows:
Open Swim: 1 – 8 p.m. daily
Adult Lap Swim: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. daily
Adult 50-meter Lap Swim: 7 – 10 a.m. (Saturdays only)
